  • Recipient herds are limited and are on a first come, first serve basis. 
  • Recipient herds are required to verify pregnancies via ultrasound by 90 days of gestation.
  • Recipient herds are required to record birthdate and actual or best estimation of birth weight via weight tape.
  • Recipient herds are required to vaccinate calves pre-weaning. 
  • Calves should be weaned at least 30 days prior to transfer back to embryo owner.
  • Recipient herd is required to sell calf back to embryo owner.
  • Recipient herd owner is responsible for synchronization cost of recipient cows (Approximately $10 to $15).
  • Embryo owner provides the embryo and pays for transfer of embryo (Approximately $60).
  • Embryo owner buys the calf after weaning or previous to weaning.
  • Calf pricing is determined by taking the top 2 sets of steers sold at Huss Livestock, Kearney, NE, Lexington Livestock, Lexington, NE and Ogallala Livestock, Ogallala, NE.  The average price of these 6 sets of calves is determined and $400 is added to determine the final price.
  • Embryo owner is not obligated to buy cattle with blemishes or dinks.  Blemishes would include but not be limited to pinkeye scars, frozen ears, large scars, etc.
